GENERAL INQUIRIES
Gratuities are not customary. It all has to do with your experience! Tips are generally a reflection of your experience with our staff and your guide during your stay. A guide tip generally wages from $50-$100/day per person, while the in-house staff tips, split between all house staff, are generally around $50-$100/day per person as well.
You don't need to be experienced to fish on Reindeer Lake! Not only are the fish plentiful and always ready to bite, but our professional guides will teach you everything you need to know.
Your fishing license for our region, gratuities, overnight stay in Saskatoon prior to your trip, rental equipment, along with store and alcohol purchases are not included with our fishing packages.
All meals are included during your stay and prepared by our executive Red Seal Chef and his talented culinary team. You can expect five star dining during your trip, as we believe that fishing shouldn't be the only world class experience you have at our lodge. You'll enjoy a delicious shore lunch every day, but make sure not to fill up too much! When you arrive back at the lodge at the end of each fishing day, you will have a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres and a three course dinner. You will be sure to leave happy and full.
TRAVEL
The weather is generally warmer during the day but cools off significantly at night. The temperature can range from 50 – 80˚F (10 - 26˚C). You do run into some colder days early June and late August - September. It’s best to dress in LAYERS. A quality jacket & pants with a high waterproof rating like Gore-Tex will be your best bet in any weather if you have a layer of lightweight long underwear and warm fleece underneath. Quick drying fabrics are great for shirts and pants. There are many brands out there, such as Columbia who offer these. Waterproof boots will be needed in the rain. You can find a full list of packing items by heading to our Trip Itinerary page and downloading our Complementary Trip Planner.
You will arrive back in Saskatoon airport no later than 11:10am. We recommend you book your flight home no earlier than 1:00pm the same day.
Arctic Lodges is 60 miles from Southend, SK, located centrally on Reindeer Lake on Dewdney Island.
You will depart the Saskatoon Airport at 6:30am and arrive no later than 8:30am with a fly time of an hour and a half.
AMENITIES
Our cabins hold anywhere from 2-6 people, with some cabins being larger than others. Our cabins are rustic and quaint, with an open concept and a full modern washroom.
We generally book up to 16 guests, while corporate groups who exclusively book out the entire camp can have up to 32 guests.
We have at least 12 in-house staff, along with 8-10 guides. We believe in a 1-1 staff to guest ratio to ensure our service never slides. It is an important aspect to making your trip unforgettable.
One of the great parts about being in the Northern Wilderness is that you have the chance to disconnect from the world and really enjoy what the nature has to offer. Since we are so far North, there is no cellphone service. That being said, there is complementary WiFi in the main lodge for your use.
FISHING
On arrival day, your fishing day will be from 10:30am-5:00pm. You will be served a quick breakfast before heading out on the water, then be given a bagged lunch. There will be no shorelunch on this day to save you the time fishing. For the rest of your trip, you will fish from 8:00am-5:00pm everyday, arriving back at our lodge for cocktail hour and dinner.
We have brand new 18' Crestliner 1800 Kodiaks with 50hp Motors that have only been in use since the 2019 season. They are well maintained and equipped with comfortable seating and everything you will need for your equipment.
No. We allow small fish to be kept for your daily shore lunch, but we have a strict catch and release policy which has been in place for 20+ years.
We get this question a lot, so we have created some blog posts to help guide you in which direction to go with tackle and rods. Please visit our "Reel Report" blog for more information. If you're still unsure of what to bring, don't panic! We have gear rentals starting at $25/day per rod type, and a fully stocked storefront full of all your tackle needs!
We do not have an option for Self Guiding at this time, but we are working on some future plans. Stay up to date with us for further announcements!
